About Me

Hi there! I'm Heather Compton, a skilled professional with a traround 20 years of ​management in both for and nonprofit businesses. I hold both a BA from Brevard ​College and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. I come ​armed with years of experience people management, financial and budget ​management, systems and best practices creation, and project management ​experience, among other skills.

I would love to help you effectively and efficiently manage your people, systems, ​and projects, while being mindful of your budgets and finances.

I am currently a freelance writer and copyeditor, but once rocked the role of ​Environment and LGBTQ Editor at the Asheville Global Report newspaper from ​2007-2009. If you're into reads, I penned 'The Herbal Bath and Body' book, gracing ​the shelves at Barnes and Noble courtesy of Sterling Press.

Nowadays, I'm a free-spirited freelancer, effortlessly shifting my written voice across ​various topics – from how-to guides to sports and everything in between. Need a ​proofreader, ghostwriter, or copyeditor? I've got you covered!

I have worked with Lisa Zahiya in various capacities since 2014 and currently act as ​her writer, editor, and manage Scale Up Support. In my free time, I am an artist, ​distance runner, dancer, and herbalist who loves spending time with my friends, ​famly, and animal babies.
